Ode to the Vets

 

In the darkness of battle, they stood tall,

Braving the storm, answering the call.

With courage their hearts and sacrifice their eyes,

They fought for our freedom under the skies.

 

In fields of green and oceans of blue,

 veterans marched, their loyalty true.

Through trials and tribulations, they never wavered

Their bravery and strength, forever savored.

 

We owe them a debt we can never repay,

For price they’ve paid, day after day.

Their service and sacrifice, a gift beyond measure,

We honor them now, with utmost pleasure.

 

But as the battles fade and the memories linger,

We must ensure our heroes never wither.

For the scars they bear, seen and unseen,

Deserve our love, respect, and esteem.

 

Let us lift them up, in their time of need,

Provide them with solace, support, and heed.

For they have given us everything they hold dear,

It’s our turn now, to show them we’re here.

 

So let us stand together, hand in hand,

And vow to cherish our veterans, across the land.

For their bravery and sacrifice, we’ll never forget,

Our heroes, our guardians, our eternal debt.
