Founded in 1991, Housen Homecare is a second-generation, veteran-owned home care agency. Our agency was built from the compassionate vision of a mother and daughter duo. After her graduation from Andrews University, Ms. Housen was determined to create a better care model—one that values the well-being of both caregivers and clients. We know that when caregivers are properly supported, they can offer superior, personalized care to the families they serve.
As a veteran-owned business as of 2023, we remain deeply committed to serving the unique needs of the veteran community. While coping with the realities of caring for our own aging loved ones, we were confronted with administrative, personal, and economic challenges. Moreover, we noted that many service providers we met used a cookie-cutter approach to in-home care instead of assessing each family’s needs individually. Like many other families, we found it challenging to identify a credible Residential Service Agency (RSA) that met our needs. We realized that we weren’t alone in our frustration and that it was up to us to be the solution. With that in mind, we built a company that took a customized approach to homecare. A quarter of a century later, we’re still laser-focused on addressing our patients’ needs while considering the needs of their families.
